‘Fantastic Four’ taps Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer to write script – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: With Matt Shakman on board as director, Marvel Studios has now found its writers to deliver the new The Fantastic Four Photo. Sources tell Deadline that Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer are on board to write the film’s script.

Insiders add that the writing duo were actually involved in The Fantastic Four for a while, even before Shakman was named director, and explained where this next series of films will fit in the Marvel Cinematic Universe alongside Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. Kaplan, Springer, and Shakman will now come together to align their visions for this project before the writer dives into the script. Feige produces the photo.

At Disney’s D23 event this month, Feige confirmed Shakman as the film’s director, but said that was all he had for audiences at the time, with no casting on board. . Feige and Shakman will now focus on finding actors while writing the script. The Fantastic Four has been a long-awaited property for MCU fans since the time Disney acquired Fox and absorbed all of its assets. Fans have been wondering when they’ll get this new series of films ever since, and Feige delivered that answer at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego, saying the film will kick off Phase 6, dropping on November 8, 2024. As for Kaplan and Springer, though new to the scene, the writing duo are one of the hottest screenwriting teams in town, having sold out a number of specs over the past year.
